Description:
I've been drawn to Aspen trees for years. While painting in New Mexico among Aspen forests, God began to reveal more of their amazing spiritual significance. Aspens grow only in high altitudes, stretching straight and tall toward the brilliance of the sun. After a fire, they are the first to seed and blossom. But Aspens have a better chance to flourish if the seeds are bunched and grow closely together. When not connected, they are blown and bent by the wind and may become diseased.
We, too, grow and mature in the high places of His presence. But we, as followers of Jesus, will only thrive and withstand the fires and the heavy winds set against us as we are linked together on earth in community and interdependence. Then, and only then, will we advance the supernaturally relational Kingdom of God.
