Spring greetings!
Amid the great expectancy of what God is changing in the spiritual and natural atmospheres this spring season, there has been an explosion of interest in the creative realms of His Kingdom.
On a personal level, I am thrilled with the launching of my new web page this week and with my schedule that will allow me to paint and capture new visions of God's magnificence. But the greatest joy for me are the growing opportunities to visit and pray with so many who are hungry to see their creativity released to His glory.
Please visit my new web page at www.jvcartworks.com and, hopefully, I will see you along my journey this year at one of the upcoming conferences. |
Your Kingdom Come
This commissioned piece has become one of my favorite paintings. I was asked to paint a representation of Sabbath rest, which is the living and abiding in the completion of God's perfected work. It reflects the pursuit of bringing His Kingdom to earth, from the garden of Eden to the new Jerusalem, Genesis to Revelation.
The seven worshipping figures depict the seven spirits of God noted in Isaiah 11:2: the Spirit of the Lord, counsel and might, wisdom and revelation, understanding, and the reverential fear of the Lord.
God is returning for a people who embody these seven spirits. They will be full of life and attract others to pursue His Kingdom .

Finding the courage to be creative
One of the most frequent comments I get at conferences where I paint is "I would love to paint [dance, sing, write, etc.], but I can't." I've discovered that one of the major hindrances is the fear of man. So as I pray for the release of creativity in a person's life, I always pray and break off that fear first.
Then I remind every artist (and we are all artists!) that God is not the God of I CAN'T . He is the great I AM . He has placed the desire to create in each of our hearts and will see it through to its fruition if we will allow Him to continually stir and guide us.
I spoke with one frustrated artist who said she used to write songs but had not done so for five years. We expectantly prayed together because God loves to answer those prayers for His creativity. The next day she was glowing as she told of the song she wrote that very night and would be sharing with her worship team.
I encourage each of you to fearlessly make the time to pursue that which the Lord has put on your heart and see how much life and hope it brings to you as well as others.
