Run, run, run after Him into the new year!
God has set a race before us that we are to run courageously, not cautiously. We are to boldly declare His Words of life and hope of a supernatural Kingdom into a dark and struggling world.
He is training and preparing us for the days of battle ahead so that we will endure in the midst of darkness, crisis, and disaster. We will surpass the footmen in the day of battle and will run, run, run with the horses (Jeremiah 12:8).
I began pondering what our lives would be like if we were always prepared to run with the horses after I was commissioned to paint a large art piece for Trinity Fellowship in Sayre, Oklahoma. Years ago, the pastor of Trinity, Andy Taylor, spoke powerful words of encouragement over me as a prophetic artist. Now he was giving me complete freedom to hear from God on what to paint for the entrance of Trinity's new worship complex.
Complete creative freedom is what most artists yearn for. It's also a bit scary. As God began to put the Jeremiah verses in my heart, I kept wondering if this was really what God was saying to Trinity or just my own imagination. What if I painted three huge canvases of galloping horses and the people don't want horses in their church? What if the Jeremiah verses didn't speak to them?
The plan was to deliver the painting in time for their Leadership Summit where I would also be leading an art workshop. Was I ever thrilled and relieved when the confirmations began pouring in! Soon after I arrived I began to hear how a new spirit of freedom and joy had erupted in the church. Some children and adults were literally running around the sanctuary during worship. The intercessors had been hearing the sound of hooves during their prayer gatherings. And to top that, I soon discovered the church was built on a race track!
I was once again amazed at God's faithfulness to speak to me and through me to bring His encouraging and prophetic words. That's His desire for all of us. I believe the Lord is smiling as we run after Him into the new year, bringing His Kingdom along the way. If you have been hanging back....now is the time to prepare to RUN WITH THE HORSES!
(If you are traveling along I-40 in western Oklahoma, please stop at Trinity Fellowship to worship with them and see the original Run With the Horses painting..)

Shining like stars in the universe
We are created to shine like stars in the universe. As we pursue the Lord with all, we begin to reflect His image and our lives are ultimately illuminated to the point of drawing others to the light.
"Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever" (Daniel 12:3).
