Cowboys and crayons
I always enjoyed the country song, "Mamas, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be Cowboys." I even sang my rendition to husband David (a born and bred Texan) for his birthday.

But recently, after a week at The Trinity Summit in Sayre, OK, I've seen a whole new side to cowboys, rodeo stars, and bull riding champs that makes me wonder if those lyrics are missing something. What I found and met was a bunch of guys and gals hungry for more of the Lord and His presence, even willing to tackle the whole prophetic art thing.
One bareback rider confessed to me that he "just didn't get prophetic art." I explained as best I could and encouraged him to attend my art workshop. It was a BIG step of faith for him to not only come, but to grab some pastels and paper to sketch a representative self portrait. What occurred was a Jesus revelation. He was so surprised at the awesome things that God showed him in the process of drawing that tears began to flow.
He later shared with others that of all the profound things he learned the week of the Summit, he received the most direction for himself and his family as he drew his portrait! This open-hearted cowboy's act of faith gave witness to others and released not only faith but also creativity and healing in the atmosphere.
So, mamas, DO let your babies grow up to be cowboys. At least like the God hungry ones I met in Sayre!
