Faith to count the stars
"Look up into the heavens and count the stars--indeed if you can count them," God told the aging, childless Abraham. "That's how many descendants you will have!"
Later, when Abraham was willing to sacrifice his son -- knowing somehow, some way, God would stay faithful to His promise -- God reaffirmed His Word and increased the number of descendants to include the grains of sand on the seashore.
Abraham's promise seems as incredible to us today as I'm sure it did to him thousands of years ago. Yet Abraham was a friend of God and believed! He understood his God's love and faithfulness. And because he did, God declared Abraham a righteous man.
I hope we all have such outlandish God-given yearnings and dreams, which only God can supernaturally fulfill. I hope we all have that child-like faith and Spirit-emboldened courage to count the stars and run our toes through grains of sand and cry, "The promise is mine!" and never let go.
Our belief in God's unique, individual promises for each of us allows heaven to converge with earth and bring our impossible dreams to life. Truly, with God, all things are possible.
Oh, that amazing grace!
Without God's amazing grace saturating and penetrating deep into our hearts and spirits, we will never trulyexperience His profound and unfailing love.
As I worked on this painting, I felt as though I were splashing strands of His DNA -- grace, mercy, faithfulness, compassion, truth, forgiveness -- across the canvas, bringing the substance of heaven to earth.
Here red represents the color of grace flowing freely from the God of Love and resting on us in the form of a dove.
The power of dreams and visions
God speaks powerfully to us through our dreams and visions. He frequently uses these mystical communications to release His revelation into our spirits and cluttered souls. Some of my most popular paintings were commissioned by individuals who wanted to express the life-changing impact of their revelations. Their prophetic power continues to be released on canvas, touching and empowering far more than the original receiver.
