Wasting our lives on Him
Last week I continued my journey of "following the cloud" and ended up in Arizona at Patricia King's Supernatural meetings. The "awakening" which began in Lakeland, Florida is spreading like a wild fire. A thick smell of smoke in the room, an insatiable hunger in the attendees -- many giving their lives to the Lord -- and wonderful healings were evident.
There is nothing like the joy of a lady who was confined to a wheelchair for nine years who was now dancing about on her new legs. In the midst of all the glory, what appeared on my canvas was the message of the alabaster jar and Mary's "wasting" of the expensive perfume. No one else at the time saw her act of extravagance as a special occasion, and many condemned her for it. They couldn't comprehend that the oil, worth more than a year's wages, was anointing Him for His burial.
Jesus highly commended Mary for her act of devotion and said that wherever the gospel is preached, her selfless act would be remembered (Mark 14:9). As Mary anointed His head and washed His feet with the oil and her tears, the essence of the fragrance saturated her. When we allow ourselves to die to our own agendas and those things that make sense to the world, His perfume becomes a part of us, too. Like Mary, we become vessels that carry His fragrant oil wherever we go.
The Lord takes great pleasure in our joy in the midst of this awakening, but His desire is for us to be totally surrendered to Him so that He may "pour through us." Now is the time for us to "break the alabaster jar" and pour out our lives for Him. |

Tugging at our heartstrings
Since I began sending a monthly e-art letter over a year ago, I have never had as much response for a painting as I have had for Bridal Dance. Many of you have told me about similar experiences of dancing with Jesus in your dreams and visions.
We're in a season when it is quite evident that His desire is for greater intimacy with His bride. Ballroom dancing never looked so good!
If you are interested in having me paint during your conference or conducting an art seminar at your church please contact me at janice@jvcartworks.com. |
