Passing along our passion

"There's no reason to apologize for your passion!" is a line from a movie that jumped out at me this week. I believe God intends for all of us to have a passion, that special something that excites and motivates us and will get us out of bed even on the worst of days.

Several years ago I realized that in the midst of much transition, I no longer had the passions that had motivated me in the previous seasons. I asked God to give me a new one, and He began bringing a desire to paint back. He began downloading dreams and visions faster than I could interpret them on canvas.

Apple of His Eye
Apple of His Eye
I could sense His guiding each stroke and recognized the results were way beyond my ability or imagination. When I felt the fear of man say, "You're not good enough to paint" and cried out for help, He caused an apple to roll out of the ocean at my feet one afternoon, clearly proclaiming ME as the apple of His eye!

Since then, I have traveled extensively, painting live in services and leading art seminars and workshops so others could understand the process. And most recently, I believed I was to take it to the next level and invest in a few in a retreat setting for a prophetic art intensive.

The May Diamonds on the Lake Art Retreat was the first of what I hope will be many opportunities to pass along my passion and knowledge of art. It far surpassed my highest expectations! Eight women of all different backgrounds, ages, and levels of art experience, courageously overcame obstacles to their creativity to achieve significant breakthroughs in their art. On top of that, we all had a blast with each other.

So many budding and growing artists at the May retreat!

We all grew artistically. One artist who arrived with a lot of insecurities and fear said, "I was able to receive more breakthrough and instruction in one weekend than I could push through on my own in one year! Janice is a gifted artist, instructor, and prayer warrior!" Wow! I can't wait to see what great things God will do in the next group of artists coming to my studio this month.

There is no greater joy than being able to share and pass along a passion. (And never a need to apologize.) So I hope to see some of you at future retreats!

July art retreat may be just what you need

The diamonds really sparkle on Lake Oconee in July so I hope some of you will consider my Diamonds on the Lake Art Retreat July 15-18.
The retreat is open to eight women who are beginning and intermediate level artists. This ensures an intimate setting where each participant receives the personal attention and encouragement needed to move into her next creative dimension.

On the dock
I also will be offering retreats August 12-15, September 16-19, October 7-10, and November 11-14.

If you are interested in reserving your place for any of the retreats or want more information, contact  me ASAP.

If you are interested in reserving your place for either retreat or want more information, contact  me ASAP.

I limit each retreat to eight women ensuring an intimate setting where each participant receives the personal attention and encouragement needed to move into her next creative dimension.
