The Power of Prophetic Art
It's becoming more and more common to hear of someone being healed and set free through a piece of prophetic art. I recently spoke with a woman who told how she was healed of a childhood trauma as she viewed my painting, Behold, that was displayed in her home. She began weeping, and then over the next few hours the Lord took her through a healing process with the revelation of something that had happened in her childhood that was triggered by the painting. She was able to forgive and release the wounding from that situation.
I frequently say that prophetic art is living art. It speaks differently to each person. And some people see things in my art that I never have seen.What you see in a painting is just as mu ch a revelation as the one God gave me when I was painting it.
Take for example this amazing testimony from Eric, who emailed me about the different faces of people he has seen (and I haven't) in a print of Visitation of God that hangs in his home. A few weeks ago he attended a men's retreat where he noticed a man that looked just like the face he saw in the painting.
"I believe the Lord led me to think that this was the person that I was shown in the painting," Eric wrote. "At the end of that evening session the man was on his way out and I went up and introduced myself to him and told him that the Lord had shown me his face the night before. I asked him how I could pray for him and he said that he has hepatitis B & C and that he's also a pastor. I laid hands on him and the power of God fell on him mightily."
There is a power in art that the Church has not recognized for centuries. But that is changing! The Holy Spirit anointing is coming upon His artists who will receive it with unprecedented power to prophesy, heal, and set free through their art.
