Our praise opens portals into heaven
As an artist I find great significance and deep meaning in every color I use on my canvases. I know God must have done the same as He was creating His beautiful and good earth. He set us here as the resident artists of earth, if you will, to continue painting strokes of His Light and Love across the earth and into the cosmos.
One primary way we do this is through our praises. When we praise God, the atmosphere around us changes. It's not just moods and emotions that change, but the very colors of the spiritual dimension are impacted by the faith and power of our words or by the negativity and death we speak. Darkness attracts darkness. But our words and actions -- expressing our trust in God and His continual love and goodness toward us no matter the circumstances -- have the power to release Light and Love on earth and lift us into a heavenly portal.
Portals of Praise
While painting at the Symphony of Praise in Harmony, NC recently, I experienced a shift in the atmosphere when praises were released. Though I had another image in mind to paint, my brushstrokes were guided to the circular vortex with colors that seemed to consume the dancer in my painting.
I was reminded then of the story of Horatio Spafford. He was a deeply spiritual Christian lawyer who experienced the death of a young son, the loss of his wealth in the Great Chicago Fire, and later the loss of his four daughters in a ship wreck. It was after this latest tragedy that he penned the classic hymn "It Is Well With My Soul" that has comforted countless believers over the last century.
Spafford tapped into a portal that comforted him through great sorrow. He didn't dwell on the tragedies of life, but on Christ's redemptive work and His glorious second coming. He proclaimed in his lyrics, "Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say, 'It is well, it is well with my soul.'" |

Breathing underwater
Today is the day of a different dimension. God wants to change the atmosphere we live in, to pull us underwater and cover us in His river of love.
If you will let Him, He will so drown you in His presence that you will find yourself breathing underwater and living in a new way and in a supernatural dimension.
