Apple of His Eye
"Who we are in God's eyes must be protected at all costs."
The opening reception of Janice's Gallery Show of original paintings was great fun. The show will continue through the end of September so please make it a family outing to beautiful North Georgia and check out the Holy Spirit gallery.

YOU are the apple of His eye
Early one morning while visiting in Florida, I was dancing and worshiping barefoot like a child along the shore. Suddenly, out of the ocean, an apple rolled to my feet. At that moment I heard God say that I was the apple of His eye! I guess He knew that was exactly what I needed to hear. The next wave carried the apple back out to sea, and I cried out for God to bring it back to me. It rolled to my feet again with the next wave.
I grabbed the prize and that evening took it to my first experience painting at a conference other than at my own church. That's how one of my favorite paintings, Apple of His Eye, was birthed.
Deuteronomy 32:10 tells us that the Lord guards His chosen as the apple of His eye. And in Proverbs 7:2 we are admonished to keep His commands and guard His teachings as the apple of our eye. The apple of the eye is the pupil, a most delicate part essential for vision. Who you are in God's eyes must be protected at all costs. It determines who you are. The vision and calling over our lives must be nurtured. I never before grasped the fullness of this familiar expression until that special day at the ocean. But then they say it isn't revelation until it's YOUR revelation!
As an artist, I am particularly blessed as I see many profoundly ministered to by this painting. The Lord speaks to them as only He can do, declaring "YOU are the apple of My eye!"
My special apple still has its home in a plastic bag in my freezer. A note inside reads: Janice's supernatural apple. DO NOT EAT!!!! My desire is that you get the revelation of His deep and unconditional love for you, and that you live in the knowledge that you are the apple of His eye. |
A Testimony

To give you some background. I, too, am an artist and have had a lifetime of slogging uphill. So I was very surprised to get inspiration for a book that I began 17 years ago. But I have entered some sort of 'zone' recently and I started a website of the art and received a random 'promotional pen' with my domain name on it. I put THIS PEN on the keyboard of the computer for about two months wondering if I should go back to the book now that I've accomplished some goals I had set for myself. KEPT asking myself, Lord is this YOUR pen or am I just 'wanting' to see stuff.
Then [I was sent] your prophetic word. So I just want to encourage you to keep hearing from the Lord. It is a ministry to the body of his daughters in ways that you don't know. Jo LeMay Rutledge
